WP2: ARTSPLOSION!!! The Passion-Palooza
I have always thought of myself as an explosion of passion, splattering in all different directions, hence my epic project title. My enthusiasm for my interests is super intense. I definitely think my powerful PASSION for everything I do has shaped me into the intellectual I am today. When I’m interested in something, I become a full-on fanatic and exert tons of energy and effort into it (is that just the definition of a nerd?). And I’m interested in a LOT of things; in fact, I was really worried about choosing a career path since I have heaps of enthusiasm for all these different disciplines. Did I want to be an animator? A sitcom writer? A foley artist who does weird stuff like rip up celery for movie sound effects?? I felt overwhelmed with all my obsessions.
I eventually decided to focus on musical theater because I’m a wild card, baby. Although I’ve narrowed myself down to specializing in one thing, I definitely still consider my other passions a huge part of myself. I’m gonna be focusing on the disciplines most vital to my intellectual identity, which are centered around art and creativity. I’ve cultivated these passions since I was a young tiny child nerd, so I’ll be archiving and writing about examples of my work from my childhood up till the present. All of my art throughout the years, and the love and enthusiasm I put into them, make me who I am now: a passionate, imaginative, artistic intellectual.
